So I'm trying to decide which knife I should purchase next. I'm a relative newbie and feel it's time to purchase my first Case knife. In your own opinions should I buy the Case stockman, Case trapper, or another model. I would like to spend less than $45 and less if possible. I would mostly use it for outdoor general purpose tasks, it wouldn't be babied. Thanks!

If you can wait a little while, Case is coming out with a nice looking Sodbuster in chestnut.

I would recommend picking up a Small Texas Jack in Chrome Vanadium (CV) steel. A little more maintenance than stainless, but worth it for a bit better edge retention, imo.

Good luck, OP! :)

Definitely make it one of their CV models. The Trapper and Stockman are very nice patterns, for general outdoors use I prefer the Stockman since the blade combination is very versatile and I love the sheepfoot blade.
