Ok guys I need some help. I decided im going to buy one last knife for the next several years (haha maybe ) so that being said I've decide to spend a lot more on a knife then I ever have before. I have narrowed it down to 4 knives. The lion steel sr-1 a , the zt 0551, the zt 561 and the hest dpx 2.0 This is going to be an all purpose knife. Something that will be consantly with me. It's needs to be reliable, strong and something that carries well in the pocket. So which one would you guys buy if it was ur last knife for a very long time? I'm leaning mod towards the sr-1 or the zt 0551

Of those four choices, I'd go with the Sr-1. I think the monoframe is badass.

With that said, if you're willing to spend that much I'd look at Chris reeve umnumzaan or sebenza or a Strider SnG.

Haha, that's not gonna last. :p In a few years you'll probably wind up with two of each. :D

Well my personal tastes would point at a smaller knife, since I find most 4" or so blades to be a bit bulky to carry, especially those kind of heavy duty titanium framelocks (something slim and light like a BM 710 on the other hand...). Now if I had to pick from those, it would be the ZT 0560 cuz I like ball bearing flippers, and that knife looks really good.

If I was picking from whatever, it would probably be a BM Ritter/mini-Ritter with some custom G-10 handles, light, slim, and a very good all around blade shape.

I have carried my ZT 0551 sense it was released more than a year ago. It's likely to get replaced by a 0550 and accompanied by a 560/561 but is easy for me to say its a knife I will likely carry for many years. The ZT/hinderer designs are about as good as production knives get without doubling the price.

Those are mostly good and interesting choices.

I can only be honest: if it were my money and I wanted one all-purpose knife, it'd be a 3" to 4" fixed blade. Get a good pocket sheath or setup a Mercharness for EDC.

I'd go with a smaller, classier type folder. Maybe something like a Reeve Mnandi or custom slippie.

Thx guys great responses.I'm really feeling the zt 0550. Most likely what I'm going for. Eventually a lion steel sr-1 just for the cool factor lol

Still Lion Steel SR-1. The steel on it is fantastic, as is the convex grind they put on it.
