Big Emerson folder?

I was at the gun shop yesterday and there's a new guy in there selling knives, sharpening, etc.

He told me that a guy came in the other day and had a huge Emerson folder. He held his hands up like it was 12+ inches long.

I have a Commander, and my wife has a mini-Commander, and we love them. I've always wanted a bigger Commander (bigger than the Super Commander), but didn't know about this one that the guy spoke of. Was he just exagerating, or is there a big Emerson folder out there? I've not been too up to date on the knife front in the past year or so, so my apologies if this is common knowledge...

Thanks!

a P-tac or super SOCFK would still not be that long, 12", they would be maybe 9", i havent seen/heard of any EKI or emerson custom folder being as long as a cammilus maxx, for example, which is about 12",

I visit www.emersonknives.com every other day or so, and I have never seen anything like this. The longest knife on this website is the UTCOM at about 9.5 inches, and that is a BIG knife. One of the Sergeants at work has a Benchmade Emerson (the big one) auto knife, and it is one of the largest folders I have seen at about 9.75 inches. But 12 inches? Benchmade has an axis lock knife that may come close to this, but its not an Emerson.

Maybe this guy is full of S@#$. 12 inches is way too big for a practical folder, not to mention illegal in most places.

The Super SOCFK is about 1/10 of an inch longer in the blade than the CQC-11 but still no where near 12 inches in overall length.

The Super SOCFK blade is also wider than any other Emerson blades so it's truly a big knife. However, like all Emerson's it fits well in your hand even if your hands are small like mine.

speaking of Super Commanders i have heard "triple aught" might be getting another production run of them anyone ever see any used ones on the market?

I think the guy was full of S@#$, as you said. I can see how some emerson folders that are almost ten inches could appear to be almost twelve.

Possibly a Timberline Emerson-Neely Specwar Survival Knife...

The Emerson SPECWAR featured a one-side chisel ground tanto blade almost 1/4 inch thick. Its handle was made from fiberglass reinforced Nylon, molded around a near-full tang. Overall Knife length is 11 7/8 inches with a Blade length of 6 1/2 inches.

This is a nice big fixed blade.

Good Luck finding one.

if he was speaking of FB's it could be a lot of things, a kandahar for 1, but he said folder.
