what do guys do with your big(ger) fixed blades, those with an 8” blade and dagger-like. These guys are definitely not EDC. They’re for battle mostly, gutting and skinning.
Just curious what other owners of big fixed blades also do with their tools?!

And if you can, please post a pic!

Or for Other reasons.

I carry the benchmade 15600OR better known as the orange blade CruWear, carbon fiber Raghorn from BM’s hunt collection. But even that has a 4.6” bade and is around 9” OAL

The classic bread and chef knives have 8-9“ blades. It’s a good EDC length actually unless too heavy or you are worried what other people think of you. I’m comfortable carrying up to 12oz of a knife all day, heavier just bothers me.

Daggers are a different matter. Don’t have any.

Well to be exact, I ordered a Strider AJAX and I’m awaiting its arrival. It’s a beast of a knife. I like his knives despite his reputation. I have several of his folders. The Ajax is a beefy dagger like fixed blade

I could see the resemblance to some of them. This one’s bigger I believe and not as symmetrical as their dagger-type blades

Do you baton or? Of its just heavy enough? Good idea, take out the shrubs and weeds
I didn’t baton that. It’s a very heavy duty vine we have around here. Don’t know what they are but they’re red under the bark and they’re about like chopping angle iron. I do baton stuff with that knife but just chopped those vines.

I don’t think you’d have much problem whackin’ a few bushes with the Ajax. I wanted one bad when that game Manhunt came out.

I like a big fixed blade for longer back-country hikes when I’m only carrying a little other gear (primarily as an emergency shelter building tool).

The more gear (shelter material/tent) I bring on the trail, the smaller my knives get.

This is the biggest knife I regularly carry at 18oz., and I take it on trail clearing and search-and-rescue hikes:

BTW that is Only 8" blade length.... ?

I'm not familiar with this knife so I looked it up, if I am correct about the model..... On ACK website... WTF??? Why is it SO expensive?
I'm not asking the original poster because we can't talk prices without Gold or higher....
(And I'm not Judging) just curious. IDK strider stuff was crazy like that? I thought it was in Tops realm? haha I guess not.... :O
