I started this last week but my grinder bit me so It got finished last night. 6 ft 9 in loa, 6x1 3/4 blade from an early sawmill blade a bit better than 1/8th thick, Dyed Moosehide blade cover and handle wrap on a Balsam Fir shaft. Throws great, sinks deep.:D
Soooo Randy, what will we make next? Thought I'd ask since we seem to be in each others head.:D:D

Sorry for the blurry pics, I think my camera is screwed up. ;-(
Regards

Robin

Love the spear. The leather work is really good. From what part of the moose hide did you get your leather? Howard

Hey Howard
That piece came from my scrap pieces part of the hide. ;-)) It was pretty stretchy so likely from the belly area.

Best regards

Robin

It looked thinner than a lot of the moose hide and I figured it was from the belly or legs. What treatment did you use on it? Warm lush look to the leather.
Howard

Howard, it is thinner than normal Moose and much less "nappy" on the inside. I used Fiebings light brown, a couple of coats, the hide was gold before I dyed it. A pretty basic cover, quick and dirty ;-))

Best regards

Robin

Well done scary Brother.. Did you make a bow for that arrow?

That's a real scary thought. I've been going threw historical pics. There's something there that we need to re-invent, but I haven't found it yet.
Also looking at African stuff and also South American weapons.....Happy smoke might help, I can't remember why I quit.....Randy

I'd like to see your take on either a spontoon or an "ox tongue" spear.
