Well despite school and work I finally got another one finished. Hopefully won't be so long before the next one.
This one is for that hunter who's got a big paw and likes a big knife.
Handle is 4-3/4" long, nice and full but not clumsy. Its not an axe handle, you can still do the detail stuff.
Blade is from 3/16" thick O1, 4-1/2" long. 10" hollow grind with a slightly convexed edge.
Handle is black linen micarta.
Still needs a sheath and then a final clean up and sharpening. Thought I'd get some pics up while I have time.

Good work Matt!!
I'ld like to see ya try & put that 1 in your pocket:D

Keep it coming.
Mitch

Thanks guys :D

Oh yeah.....Mitch, this one did spend a little time in my back pocket when I got stopped in the middle of something, but its going to need a sheath before that happens again now that its sharpened  I'll probably stick with the bendy ones for pocket carry:D

There are basically no secrets as to how a knife's design becomes timeless and elegant: simplicity and efficiency (if it feels well and works well, it will be used a lot more!). That knife just about blends those two elements, but then you STILL add a nicely-grained wood pattern for a handle. !

ONE FREAKIN' BEAUTIFUL WORKING knife!

Nice knife, but I still haven't seen that fancy piece of Cocobolo on a knife yet. ;) :)

Lookin good Matt. That will make a great hunting knife.

Thanks alot everybody :D

Danbo,
I had a blade cut out for one set of those scales and was all excited, got it heat treated and cleaned up and when I got to thinking about fitting bolters, the pin holes in the tang were a mess. Had a bit that was ground off center a little bit and the holes were oversized by about a 64th:mad: Luckily I hadn't done anything with the wood for it, but I haven't gotten back to that project yet. Soon though :D
