Due to Terry Sisco's evil influence this arrived at the post office:

http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum53/HTML/000410.html

Canada Customs had opened and inspected and charged taxes. This is amusing since Canada customs told a seller that he could not ship a 8.5" fixed bladed knife to me. Customs did not slow the package up at all.

I am not sure if it is sword or khukuri, but it is big. The O.A.L. is actually comparable to my scythe blade.

Will,

I have become very jealous of another forumite, something that I promised never to do. Not envious, doubtful, or even hateful. Just plain "JEALOUS"

.

If you ever decide to rid yourself of this beauty, please give me a chance to bargain for my first born, soul, or a reasonable facimile thereof.

Oh you wicked, wicked Canadian

As long as the handle is solid and secure I am happy with the repair. I have not chopped anything up to verify this.

A clear epoxy would have looked better. However, I don't know anyone that makes a clear epoxy with steel. I think the epoxy Terry used has a steel to strengthen it.

I look forward to putting this khukuri head to head against my 22" Ang Khola. They are similar in weight but very different in design.

Death Dancer,

I am seriously considering the 38 inch BirGorkha Janawar Katne as a purchase for next year. My cost analysis is in the thread and it looks like this khukuri would be a deal.

Will,

As I explained in the other thread, I think think that size of the handle and the sheer weight would be a little much for me. I like big blades, but I'm more of a single hander where Khukuris are concerned.

However, if I had the money to spend on something just because...it might go for something as unique as the Janawar Katne!

Keep me in mind if you ever sell your other "Big Baby"

Forgot to mention Terry Sisco gets an A plus for customer service. He gave an excellent description of the khukuri and answered my questions promptly. He kept me updated when the khukuri was sent and did packaging was well done. (Do not take packaging lightly, it is a big problem at work).
