I've been snooping around here for a while, and met a few very very cool guys through here, not the least of which is Shawn:cool: of SDSknifeworks and several guys who Shawn knows who became great friends of mine as well.:thumbup:

Now that I'm out here near Boston, I'd like to find other folks to meet or hang out with.
 
I grew up and live 1 hour west of Boston. Say bye to lenient weapon carrying options you may be used to out west.

You just don't think you carry weapons. I've seen people up there panic over a boyscout knife used to open an envelope, and that was thirty years ago. I hate to think what they're like now.
 
Not too bad as far as I've seen, I sharpened a co-workers Kershaw Needs Work last week. I know there have to be some other knife enthusiasts in this state that like to at least grab a cup of joe or a cold one.
 
If you moved to Mass you're gonna have to learn to drive like a Masshole if you want to fit in...
 
I was just referring to the 2.5'' or smaller blade length restriction within Boston city limits.

Welcome and lol he's right about the driving! I can't stand driving anywhere else compared to us the rest of the world drives like grandpas!

Yeah, figured that out already, spend some time in a couple third world countries and you learn to become an aggressive driver. :D

Sounds like just the task for my BM 707. :)

Try a random 3rd world country and you'll see that size matters, large trucks just don't yield.
 
The term "Masshole" is a universal in New England.

If you see someone a ways ahead of you driving like a complete idiot, chances are excellent that once you get within range you will see that they have Mass plates.

Massholes are simply stupid. They do everything wrong. They NEVER use their signals, the go slow in the left lane, they pass in the right lane. They weave in traffic, with an emphasis on getting in front of someone going faster than they so that they can go slower.

People from Massachusetts make light of the issue, they claim that the situation is the result of a purposeful effort, they are lying. It is simply the result of idiots behind the wheel whose licenses should absolutely be pulled.

People in the western part of the state aren't too bad, but from Worcester east they should NOT be allowed on the public roads.
 
I have always disliked the term "Masshole." That sucks that you moved from the Midwest to MA.

I only use it when appropriate. I don't use it to refer to everyone from Mass, only those who exhibit the Masshole behaviors.

Little over the limit and the drop point could be mistaken for breaking the double edged law throughout the state. But yeah its rarely enforced to the average person. Just in place so they can confiscate blades from the average thug.

If I'm ever going east I'll msg ya for a drink or w/e. Or if you're ever out this way. I'm a little north of Fitchburg on the NH boarder back in the woods.

Hopefully this thread will catch the eye of someone who has a knife group, I really lucked into SDS and his friends, maybe I can find a knife maker around here, they generally know a good amount of people.

Masshole taxi driver here. I carry a Kershaw Vapor and no ones said anything to me about it. However all the fun stuff is illegal here, no auto's or ever SA, no balisong, nothing over 3", no double edges, no fixed blades...and thats just knives. If you even think about carrying a gun...just don't. In some commuities it's practically impossible to get an LTC A.
