I don't know what it is, but I always get exited about the sheaths. Great sheaths, I have no idea how you do that with leather.

That looks like a suped up version of "The Dark Side." Is it just me. I really like the recurved on the blade, and that's a nice hamon. I'm betting that recurve will have a small kukhri effect. Have you tried it out?

Anyway, great knife!

edit: just saw the mosaic pins- those are wonderful- where do you get them?

Very nice. That looks like it'd sail right through rope & 2x4"s. That handle is beautiful and the sheath looks very proffessional. Great job.

This mosiac pin material comes in 1 foot lengths. I got this particular design from Pop's Knife Supply in Georgia.

Yes Peter. It cuts well. I test all my blades to some extent. I usually go to the woods and cut a limb at least as large in diameter as my index finger, then see if I can hold the limb in one hand and chop a couple of inches off with one chop stroke. (the limb, not my hand :D ) I do this several times.

Although it may not seem like much of a test, I figure that when I finish chopping, if all I have to do is clean the sap off the blade and it still shaves, it will probably hold a pretty good edge.

Oooooh, that just brought up another question. How do you deal with sap? It ruined one of my little $20 folders a while ago, and I can't clean it off with anything.

Thanks
Peyton

Good ole' WD-40. Takes the sap right off. Then I usually go back over the blade with some Semichrome, Top-Brite, Flitz, or one of several brands of these non-abrasive polishes.

Very nice! Looks like it is both functional and beautiful. Great Job. :)

Do you see the pattern here- all of em cure alls. The last is a discreet (until the person combusts) asassination method (cures the world of "Those People").
Thanks for answering

Very nice execution! Love the Hammon and the recurve. I'll bet it is really a "cutter"...The lines flow well! I hope I can do as well with my larger knives as I progress...As others have said, you have "skillz"!

Thank all of you for your comments. The knife sold today, and it ships out tomorrow to its new home in West Virginia.

This has all been made possible by the wonderful sharing of information, encouragement by fellow makers, and new-found friends on the knife forums.
