Big Pens... Do you know of any?

I'm carrying and enjoying a GEC #531213, which is a large (4.25 in.) "pen" knife. That is, it has a large main clip blade, a small pen blade, and a single back spring. It's so handy, that I'm wondering if anyone knows of any similar knives I might experience?

GEC #68 White Owl is a single spring, next to a peanut and a GEC #54 Moose for size

I carry a Case 06247, which is a 3 7/8" single-spring pen built on a '47 Stockman frame, I believe. The clip is 2 7/8" and the sturdy pen is 1 7/8". This round bolstered knife is pretty substantial, yet very pocket friendly. (Mine weighs in at 2.4 oz.) I really like it.

LCS: Thanks for the suggestion. I located a newer make 06247 and have ordered it. I'll let you know how it works when I have it in hand, but from the specs and photos it looks like a winner.

You're most welcome, Bear.

I like this model because it's a good combination of a sturdy, hand-filling knife yet with a pocket-friendly profile.

Do follow up on how it works out for you.

I've got the 06247 in hand and it is a very nice configuration indeed. It's about 1/4 inch shorter than the GEC #531213. The handle is not nearly as wide as the GEC, but the serpentine shape seems to make up for that. The Case handle feels thicker, but this is really apples to oranges.

The CV sharpened up exceptionally well, providing one of those edges that seems to leap into my fingerprints when I test it.

The only negative is that the pull on the secondary blade is hard, hard, hard. It's just on the edge of actually bending or breaking my thumbnail, so that I've had to use an opener half the time. It's as clean and lubed as I can get it, so only time and use may loosen up that pull.

Overall, I think this will make a great addition to my daily carry.

Your comments about the hard pull of the pen (secondary) blade reflect the same experience I've had. (I thought it was just my knife)

Like you did, I've fully cleaned and oiled it, as well as opened and closed it about 100 times to try and loosen it up. I suspect it will loosen, over time, but for right now I have to be very deliberate about opening it with a pretty aggressive inital pull. But for that issue (which I don't really mind because I'd rather blades be tighter than looser) there is a lot to like about this model.
