These knives are so nice and such a good value even when you spring for the Siegle scales that I am becoming somewhat dissatisfied with the rest of my collection. And worse, am having difficulty purchasing new knives since few can measure up to these at any price. I just purchased a new custom 7" fighter - full tang, cocobolo scales, satin finished ats34 blade treated by Bos - only $150.00 delivered. But so what. It really has nothing on the BK7 and even at $150.00 seems overpriced. This is really messed up and I'm starting to wonder if I should really be grateful to Camillus or just really upset that they are ruining my longtime quest for the perfect knife. "THANKS" Camillus.:grumpy:  :D

Easy, mate. The quest for the "perfect" anything will put
you on the fast track to insanity. With camillus knives you'll be in
the hyperfast lane!!!!:D :D :D

Hi Hey Average Guy

I gotta say that for someone with your moniker you have well above average taste....not to worry, I have been collecting things with sharp edges since age seven (absolutely loved that Plumb brand hatchet I got for my birthday ) and I was convinced that it was the perfect tool. On August 6 that will make 50 years of collecting perfection and I am convinced I am ALMOST there !!!

Seriously.... THANK YOU for your kind words and I would like to say that IMHO you are about to reach an epiphany...Knives are one of the most fascinating artifacts humans have created, and a good one ...wether it is a $9 dollar Mora carver when you are doing fine push cuts , swinging a Patrol Mchete through a stand of bamboo or Splitting out Kindling with one of Chris Reeve's SAS models( can't remember it's real name but I absolutely LOVE the blade) I do not think that a real knife nut will ever achieve a perfect knife... God knows I have been trying really, really hard for almost a half century and still I act like a small child at a candy store every chance I get...ask Trace Rinaldi and many others about my behavior at Blade show this year.
Any way as they say in the martial arts... it is the path, not the goal and a lovely path it is that you have chosen.
By the way you are gonna love the Combat Bowie...It is pretty Darn close to that nirvana I am on the search for...

All Best
Ethan

Mr. Becker, A lot of us out here are so very grateful you chose to work with Camillus on the development of this line. The Becker line is sure proof that everyone can own a fine knife. Thank you.

I'll second that! The Becker line is absolutely wonderful, and are a joy to handle and use!

I'll 3rd all the above! :) Great knives!

I just wish you would get Camillus to make
a group deal...you know a buy them all at once get the BKn free!
(Because once you get one you just have to try them all!! )

Keep up the great work! and Keep designing them the way you
like, It works for me!! Altho I would LOVE to see a
"Beacker Short Double-edged Sword"! Just a thought!!:)

Just my two cents, but my humble opinion is that the BK7 significantly raised the bar on what a "Combat Knife" should be. It's the best priced and constructed solution on the market right now. The 9 will be just as good.

The only weakness the two knives have are the sheaths, and that could be changed with about a nickel's worth more thread - quadruple stiching the loop. Past that, it's a great all around system.

What Ethan says is VERY true! He is a man on a mission, like many of us.. The mission is to create the PERFECT knife that fits EVERONE, and performs like a chain saw, or a food processor or BOTH!!! Ethan is devoted to making the best tools for any pocket book, and does a DAMN fine job of it!! One of the main high points in my Blade show experience was talking to Ethan Becker, and selling him a blade, the low was falling on my ass while talking to Ethan Becker..HAHAHA... He is a true gentleman, and is a hell of a guy, he didnt even laugh at me..:D I have always heard what a great person he is, but till you meet the guy yourself, you just wont understand.. I LOVE the way he thinks, and I like to think, I think like him, if that makes any sense:-)... I am very much looking forward to the next time Ethan!
