Howdy all,
Just posted this one in the custom forum,, and thought I'd share it here also.
It's a custom order for a gentleman in Europe. My first European order.
Steel is L6, forged from 1.5" round bar. Blade is 10" long, total length is 16.5". Blade width at the "sweet spot" is 2 1/8" Probably my biggest knife yet.
Any comments are welcome,

Thanks for looking!
Phillip

Very, very nice! I'm not usually a fan of recurves, but the lines on this are amazing. Great work!

Woah! 10 inches of L6? Would love to try that bad boy out. Nice work!!!

Good common sence personal companion, not unlike my fixed blade on my belt. Good working tool, easy cleaning, comfortable in the hand-nice big handle.

Great knife and lovely recurve!

I like everything about it.

What do you do to get such a long grind curve (by the ricasso)?

Wow! Holly smokes man you're just getting better, I am at a loss for words that looks so nice. Really like the shaping you did to the blade with a classic PP handle to finish the knife off.

Well done! ;)

Thanks. :)
You mean the blended plunge grind? It started out as a regular plunge cut, closer to the tip, but then I decided it would look better blended like this. I tried to use my 10 inch wheel, but I couldn't control it very well, so I switched to my flat platen, with the belt hung over the edge a little.
Does that answer your question?

I am a sucker for recurves.
That is a very nice knife Have you any thoughts about possibly doing another "custom" job like that one? I may wish to contract a knife "similar" to that one.

That's a freakin bad boy!! Ohh man I definitly would try that bad boy for chopping:cool:

Thats an AWESOME RECURVE! WOW:thumbup:
