I was wondering if there are any really large, slipjoints with a 4 inch or longer blade itself, available used or new for around $60.00 max? Other than Schrade or Rough Rider? I might be unrealistic but just checking. I looked in the exchange section here but didnt see much like this. Could have missed something though.

Check out the A.G. Russell Large Folding Hunter. Good quality, 4 5/8" blade. The yellow delrin version goes for 60.00.

Grandaddy Barlows are also right around 5" closed which would give them a blade length right around 4 1/2 - 4 5/8...ish (as my daughter would say) and can be had from around ...oh, crud, $80

Case two-blade Folding hunter, #6265SAB. I've had one in their CV blade steel I've carried off-&-on for 20+ years. In 2005, they re-bladed it for me, using their Tru-Sharp steel blades. Both steels are very forgiving, perform really well, and are relatively easy to sharpen.

Queen still has a single blade Folding Hunter in D2. That's almost as big as it gets, excepting the A.G. Russell FH mentioned earlier, which is HUGE (I have three;)). At retail, the Queen is a bit pricier than $60, but you might find a deal on the auction site for quite a bit less.

As mentioned, the Case FH is also a good prospect. Many 'pre-owned' ones out there, often for little $$. Can still find older 6165L single-blade locking versions; I think that one was only available in stainless. Many of the older carbon-bladed 6265 SABs from the '65-'69 era or '70s vintage are still around. May be a little rough around the edges, but those are great users.

If I were shopping for a FH these days, I'd be looking for the older Schrade OT models in 1095 (2-blade 25OT, or single-blade, liner-locking 125OT). I think Schrade's 1095 may be my favorite of all... :)
