Well, Bevels look like I had invisioned them...well, close anyways ;)
Patience and 36 grit helped alot! Let the belt do the work. ;)

Now all I have to do is wait for fresh 220 belts to get the flats nice and flat:confused: Thought I had some!!!
Then HT her.
Anyone recognise this layout?

Boy Brian, that's quite handfull  What width and thickness did you start out with? That's going to be quite a knife when you finish. What's the handle material gonig to be?

Do you think tat the bevel should be straight and not a curve? I still have anough meat to play with. Just looking for other opinions :D

Scott - Its 1/4" stock. Sort of meant to be overkill just for fun.
Thinking about curly maple I have or black micarta. I have some antique micarta too that might work but some stained curley is talking to me :D

Hey, you need to taper the tang before HT!!! :p

Dont listen to Nick. It would just throw the balance all out of whack :D

Okay maybe a little taper.

I need to study some jigs to drill my handle holes before I taper. This is still front heavy as it is. I was surprised.

Cool! Kinda hand held axe? :D Curly maple is always a favorite of mine, it goes with nearly anything.

A nice tight grained curly hickory for a big blade like that brother Brian. I'm a bit partial to hickory these days (don't see any forge marks!).
Nice chunk of steel there!
