Don was kind enough to send me his home number so that I might call him about Spring turkey hunting. This fellow really knows his turkey hunting and I would have learned much more from him if not for my consistant interruption with questions. Had I just shut up more he would have gotten around to all my questions and probably more wthout me asking.

Don is another of us fellow knife makers that shares our kindness towards each other and I am just as sure towards those outside our craft.

Don taught me a lot if I'll just put into practice his shared experience. This guy kills buck turkeys with a bow!!

Hey Roger, Check out my front lawn - once they move out to my meadow, they're fair game.

Bob, that's a fantastic front lawn!!! And some rather large birds there man - what you feeding them??? :D

Bob,

Nice picture. I'd guess those birds are corn fed.(?):D :D

Someday if I make enough money for the trip I might just pack up the tent and take you up on that.

I have always thought that knife making people were the nicest people
in the world. Roger fits this mold perfectly. Those were very nice words from him, but what he doesn't realize is, that I enjoy the discussions more than anyone. Why should anyone else make the same stupid mistakes that I made over the years, when I can tell them how to avoid some of them.
Those are sure some nice turkeys in that yard. As soon as you finish fattening them up some more, Roger and I will come over. Wait! does this mean that I need another turkey knife? You bet!

They do look well fed - don't they? Those are only part of a local "herd". You can see from the goldenrod that it was late summer. I haven' t seen this crew yet, but last week I saw 5 or 6 at my folks, a few miles down the road. I've seen as many as 25-30 at a time. Turkey season has just become a big thing around here now that the population is exploding........as it is for bear, moose, fox, etc
