I got your sheaths in the mail yesterday and i have used both. The black one rides nicely in my pocket and it clips tightly to the inside of my pocket. I like that, that's what i was looking for. The brown one is nice if i want to drop the knife in my pocket out of site and then clips on my pocket when i use the knife. Easy to re sheath and easy to unsheathe. The black one is probably the one i will use more, the clip system is perfect for me. Thanks for taking the time to do this man, I appreciate it. Sheaths are nicely done

Thanks allot man.

Glad you got them. I was really hoping the black one would get a bad review because it was not fun to make. You can probably see the lack of fit and finish on it partially due to my lack of enthusiasm and partially because it's the first try.
I'm not against trying again someday but I'll have to find the motivation. Plus I'd like to see if you still like it after more use. Anyways, let me know if you need any help making them more useful to you and feel free to do whatever you want with them, even if that's a destruction test or something. :D

Will that black sheath ride all the way down in a back pocket?

It does in my jeans. You cant see a thing. Depends how big your jeans are i guess.

Have you found it sometimes difficult to reinsert the knife on the brown sheath? I vaguely remember it giving me some trouble and can't remember if I was able to get it perfect or not.

It is a little tight but i try not to push the knife in too deep. About the same amount of effort it takes to pull the knife from the new factory sheath the knife comes with

If I remember correctly the entry angle is important. I've since figured out how to prevent that but I'm not positive that's the case with yours or not.

I'm curious to know if the black clip will loosen over a period of time from bending and sitting. However, they do look good!

That's a good question that maybe some more experienced kydex user could answer. My experience has been that it always returns to the same place unless heated. I hope someone else will chime in on it.

You do some great work Hoopster! Those sheaths looks great, might just have to pick one up in the future.

Nice work Hoop!

I like to see people trying something different. Thats how innovation happens.

I don't even own a Izula yat and I want the black sheath for a rear pocket carry. I have a ZT 0200 back there now so I'm sure the Izula will work fine.

Thanks, I tried. :o I'm still not sure if the black sheath has any advantages over a similar setup in leather. I have worn one identical to the brown one for a day and think it's a practical design, especially for people who use the knife frequently throughout the day.
