Big, Big Thanks to Kershaw!

I sent a Chive in with a broken tip to Kershaw’s warranty department on 11/26 and today I just received a brand new Chive from them to replace the one I sent in. To say the least, I’m very please with them. Thanks again Kershaw!

the you will love this story.

a friend had me send in his Lahar (he litterally beat the crap out of it. he's in maintenace, so it makes sense). it had a chipped blade, missing a screw on the clip, and it was super stiff in opening.

so i sent it out on Dec 3. they got it the 5th, i got it back today. super sharp (again) and, get this, BRAND NEW! they replaced it compleatly. talk about impressive.

Thanks to Tif, Dawn, Jen and everyone else in CS. oh yeah and Thomas and Tim :D

Usually, when you find a company that's miles ahead of the competition in innovations and technology, CS can't keep up...

NOT the case with Kershaw!

I love Kershaw knives ,excellent warranty..I sent in a chive that had been in a fire, completely burnt and rusty, sent it in and a week later I received a brand new chive..I was impressed and ever since then if it is Kershaw and USA made(my preference) I will not hesitate to purchase one. Thanks again Tony

i sent in my third mini cyclone for the same dumb problem with the torsion bar. they received it i think on the 3rd or 4th. in a note i asked for a call to discuss what we can do about swapping it for another model explaining that this is the third one. havent heard anything back. not pleased with their customer service. SOG and Benchmade have been great to deal with. i think i will stick to them in the future.

Crawl, there's a link at the top of each page on this sub-forum. It contains all the contact info you will need. Here's part of it:

While I can't answer for Kershaw, yours seems to be the exception rather than the rule. Give them a call and I'm certain they will hook you up.

i called a few days back, transfered to warranty dept where nobody picked up.

update:

just got a package from kershaw. in it was a replacement for my mini cyclone. it was replaced with a super sharp blackout 1550. much happier. smooth knife. also received a new catalog. i was looking to upgrade to a speed bump, gladly would have paid the difference minus the shipping cost, but this will do. i asked to swap it out for a different knife and they did exactly that, so i cannot complain. thank you kershaw.

Crawlin TJ, you'll like the Blackout I edc'd one for about two years, it's nice and light and a good general purpose knife for edc. It feel's good in your hand and cuts most everything you throw at it and the speedsafe works very well with this knife. Its no super knife, just a good quality knife that works.

TJ???????? now thats an insult. we stick to real suspension. jk, oh wait, cant use that abbreviation, now those are JoKes i am not sure if it like the tip down with the non reversable blade. i guess it will do since i carry a benchmade or sog most of the time. it is very light and very smooth. you hit it right on the head, there is nothing fancy about it, just a smooth good working knife.

Ah, sorry about that CrawlinYJ I stand corrected. Its either my fingers, or my eyes fault or... I could blame the keyboard. ;) "or a baby's arm holding an apple"

Yes in can be kinda different with the tip down. When I switch off from my Griptillian I realize I have to flip the kershaw down to clip it in my pocket!

i was just kidding with you. are you a jeep guy as well? as far as tip down, i also carry a griptillian most of the time. its perfect, predictable, and handles like no other. great knife. its hard to adjust to this blackout with a liner lock and thumb stud that tears up my delicate thumb after prolonged use. i use my knives a lot. or play with them a lot i guess. also, all my other knives are tip up. so when i reach in my pocket and grip my knife, i know that i can open it from that particular grip.

Funny, I talked to a Tiffany and wondered if she was the "Tif" on these forums. I told her of my minor problem with my Offset and told me to send it in without hesitation. I can't wait to get it back and drool on it some more.:D

Ya, I know what you mean, whenever I switch to my Blackout I have to think about where's the tip and I gotta flip the knife to put it back in my pocket. I am a Kershaw fan though. I don't mind the liner lock, I also have a Spiderco knife with a back lock and I can do them all one handed, and, the speedsafe is just such cool way to open a knife! (You might say I'm knife ambidextrous:) ) But I do think the axis lock is the easiest way to open a knife. However, I am anxious to get the new Kershaw R.A.M. knife with the Hawk lock coming in Jan/Feb, according to Thomas. Check it out it opens and closes like the axis system on the Grip. Here's a link

No I'm not a jeep guy but I wouldn't mind owning one. It's the closest thing to riding a motorcycle in the summer with the top down. and they're fun to drive!
