Today I finished a very old blade that was laing around for half a year now.

It was the second blade on my grinder, and now I'm asking myself how could such a butt ugly shape come out of my head

.

Since my work was a bit rougher back in those days I had some problems while finishing. So I just called it a user and took some shortcuts in finishing

.

Now it belongs to my father how doesn't hesitate to use it. I#m going to make him a nice sheath for it too.

It's my first and so far only tapered tang (from 4 mm to 2 mm)

Some specs and the pics:

OAL: 31 cm (with the glassbreaker/bottleopener/skullcrusher-thing 32 cm )

Blade: 17 cm

Steel: 1.2842

Handle: another australian burl and SS pins

Now let's see if you wil laugh or cry about it

IMHO, you are going to have a lot of people disagreeing with your "Butt Ugly" description of this knife. It looks pretty damn good to me.

That ain't butt ugly... nice knife.
I especially like the filework, reminds me of whitetail tracks in the snow.

Marcus mein freund, since you are from the old country as my ancestors were I will assist you in properly disposing of that if you must. I really like the file work. Looks like a good piece from here. What is it you dislike or was it just a pain in the esel to finish.

I don't think it's butt-ugly either, in fact, I really like the profile!

Fellas, Marcus and I have had some emailing back and forth, and I tried to convince him to join the ABS. As you see other work from him, and realize he's only 17...you will think he'll be an MS someday too! (I sure think so)
