Finally finished this one up, been on the bench for some time. Blade is 11-1/4" x 2+", overall length 16-1/2", just over 5/16" thick at ricasso with moderate distill taper. Blade is forged from 1-1/4" W2 round bar, SS guard. Handle is Missouri Black Walnut, alot more color in person than the photos show, still needs a few more coats of wax on the Walnut.

Very nice Matt. When are you going to show us a picture of the bowie you're finally making for yourself?

That looks great Matt. That W-2 seems to be the ticket for producing some crazy (dare I say........ Hamons?:D).

Thanks for sharing, and I hope to see you at "Batson's".

Batton down the hatches.......... Weather is supposed to get rough tonight.

Another terrific bowie Matt. Outstanding hamon, crisp lines and that walnut is gorgeous!

I'm a fan of Black Walnut and W2, and you've
done great things with them here. Thanks for
the look.

thanks guys, the kind words are very appreciated.

forgot to add the clip is sharp, cut my knuckle wide open when hand sanding... felt like a slow dull bee sting:eek:

Robert, i heard the weather was going to be bad, but nothing so far. As long as it dont kill me or knock the power out I dont worry about the weather too much:D

Looking forward to seeing many of you at Batsons as well as the Blade Show.

Hey Matt great looking knife If it feels as good as the one you made me it has to feel fantastic .. great work

That blade looks great, but that handle looks as close to perfect as I can imagine! Good sized with curves in all the right places! That's what a using handle on a knife that size should be shaped like, IMO. That walnut is exceptional as well.

Todd

Keep up the great work Matt. It's cool to see how you've evolved in your knifemaking since I first talked to you 4 or 5 Years Ago.
