bigest axe collection?

hello, very new to this site, I would be very gratefull if anyone could tell me if there is a world record for the most axes in one collection? thank you very much
 
I'm' sure it's not the biggest but I've heard that Larry McPhail who revised Klenman's 'Axe Makers of North America' has about 1000 in his collection. Klenman had 2000 in his collection before he passed on.
 
There are some gentleman out there that, quantity wise do have over 1000 axes/hatchets in their collection. Can't imagine how long that took in the pre ebay days to amass.
 
I don't know what I searched on Google but this was an interesting collection of sorts. Believe they are in Australia.

Probably old hat here but I got stuck in the gallery for about 20 minutes yesterday.

Used to rough cut wooden shoes - Boy, I've needed one of these for a long time...

If it's not Kosher to post links like that I will remove it.
 
I've seen some of Steve's posts on a few wood-working tool related pages on Facebook. He's got a hell of a collection for sure.
 
They put together an excellent collection. I wish I could justify buying that Kelly Hand Made Pulaski they have for sale.
