Saw a program on TV about Bigfoot. Always intrigued me. There seem to be signtings and a lot of people claim to have seen, and smelled, one. Usually a 7 to 10 foot tall very man-like creature with reddish brown fur that smelled awful.

Certainly there are prboably some hoaxsters out there, seems dumb as there are a few pople who would like to shoot one, but maybe some of this is real?

Some pecularities mentioned by the program:

No BF bones ever found

No droppings or sign,

No evidence of one nesting anywhere.

No evidence of animals killed (how would they know?)

Fur is even and appears about the same length all over. Most animals have varying lengths of fur.

People who have seen it say that it is very man-like. Not a bear or ape.

No tail.

Indian legend, according to this program, says that the BF has hypnotic powers. "One could be standing in front of you and if he did not want you to see him, you would not be able to."

I wonder if they make crop circles........

And, hmmm, a very large number of signtings in Oklahomo. I wonder if our HIC medicine man (I mean this in a very respectful way), Yvsa, from Oklahoma has an opinion.

I don't know about Big Foot, but I caught part of a program on the Sumatran "Little Foot" the other day. Many people feel that of all the Cryptos that could be out there, this is the one that has the most chance of going undetected and has offered the most proof positive signs. So far, there have been scores of eyewittnesses with similar to same ID's of the creature, hair samples that are not exactly like any other ape or man, and tracks that hint strongly to beipedal locomotion. Supposedly, the Little Foot can stay hidden because Sumatra is full of lush jungle and forest and not heavily populated for the area. Also, Little Foot stands a mere 3' tall:eek:
I didn't catch the last part of the program. Ya know, the part where they ALWAYS give ambiguous conclusions to the existance:rolleyes: However, it was pretty interesting, nonetheless. There are all kinds of things out there that we don't know about. Heck, the program mentions a new found branch of "man" dubbed "hobbits" because of their extremely small stature. They actually lived only 13,000 years ago! Another program that I saw said that there is a good chance that Modern Man crossed pathes with them on their island several times! What is not known is our behavior with the "Hobbits". We might have traded with them, we might have killed them, we might have eaten them;) The point is, that we are getting curve balls thrown our way all the time, and a lot of them are breaking the windows of established scientific theory and the perception of man's family tree.
Cool stuff:)! I would love it if a Big Foot actually existed. However, i hope we never find him. We are a destructive and savage animal. Nothing that full of lore and mystery deserves to be ripped apart us.
The most crazy Big Foot theory I have heard is that Big Foot is actually an alien race that crashed here hundreds of years ago. The hair is either natural, or a lightning quick adaption that aliens have to help them survive the planets they explore. i.e. the hair helps them deal with the northwest climate and our planets UV radiation. We have never found a body because they are a long living race, or that they take their dead and bury them. Like I said, crackpot, but creative. The internet is just full of this stuff:)

Did you know that Bigfoot is also called Sasquatch because that's the sound it makes when he steps on a Winnibago?

Well according to the Oklahoma Bigfoot Association or whatever it's known as there was once a Bigfoot sighted about 4 miles or so from our house as the crow flies. I keep looking out my back window and hear strange sounds once in a while but have never seen one, yet. I keep waiting ya know, no, seriously! :p
There has also been strange odors emanating from the uncleared land behind the 40 foot easement behind our house and our neighbor who lives kitty cornered from us swears that something big lives out there as he has heard and smelled it when he goes out to smoke at 4 in the morning.
Whatever "It" is also sets off his motion lights.
I keep hoping that one will join us for a Sweat some night but if we don't get enough rain to break this damned drought we may not Sweat this summer except from the heat and that makes a person stink unlike the Lodge which is cleansing.:(

I have this to say:
No BF bones ever found:it's said you never find bear bones ether.

No droppings:maybe like a cat they dig & bury?

No evidence of one nesting anywhere:Caves?

No evidence of animals killed (how would they know?):they avoid us like plauge...maybe groups of them interact, thus any killed get carryed off?

I think it's real enough, but the small numbers of them make it hard to prove.

Yvsa,

Leave him some doughnuts. No one has tried to make friends with him in any report I've ever seen. It always somebody trying to take pictures, or track him with dogs, or shoot at him. He probably just thinks we are mean. A doughnut would do the trick. If its not a bigfoot, but a cougar, setting off the motion sensors it won't like doughnuts. Then you'll know for sure. Scientific proof and all. You could be on believe it or not. LOL.

I don't believe in Bigfoot.

But if I were camping alone in the Pacific Northwest I'd have....thoughts about it.

Then there is Gigantopithecus, which is a true fossile find of an ancient giant ape.
