I'm in a phase right now where i'm really wanting a big folder, no specific use or reason, just do. I'm looking at the cold steel espada and rajah, any other really big folders?

I kinda like the rajah 2.

ZT does make some robust folder with fat blades and handles, but I believe they still fall in the 3.5-4in range. The Spyderco Military is 4in but doesn't appeal to everyone. Benchmade Rift and a few other models also qualify as large folders. But more than 4in? Only the Cold Steel Voyager and an Opinel model are really big that I know of.

I've been stuck in that "phase" long enough to realize that buying one is the only way out of it. I too feel the need for a Mega-Folder. My need comes from a specific situation though - my supervisor told me I could no longer carry a fixed blade (my Sec. job, my L.E. job is fine with FB's). So.. when told I was limited to folders, the solution became crystal clear :-D

So far, I have found NO reputable companies, other than Cold Steel, that make Mega-Folders. From their line up, the Rajah II seems to be the most bang for the buck. I don't have one to tell you about, though, because I'm supposed to be saving for a pre 86 transferable MG right now.

Off the top of my head:

Cold Steel: Kudu, Spartan, Voyager XL, Rajah II, Espada L and XL, 6" Ti'Lite, Pocket Bushman, Paradox

The Zero Tolerance 0200 has a 4.25" blade

I've got a collection of folders that have 5" or longer blades and am always on the lookout for others.....;)

They're not production knives but they are BIG! :D

If you can still find either one of these, I perfer Benchmade model #630 Skirmish or #610 Rukus.
I have owned both & like the Skirmish the best by far, both have S30v steel & blades over 4 inches.

OP - some of these replies have me wondering if I misunderstood you. What is the minimum length you are looking for? For me, it has to be NO LESS than 5"
