Bigger than a Kopa, Smaller than a Delica?

Hi all,

I love the Delica (have three) and the Kopa (have the CF version) and I've always loved the Spyderco blades.

But the Delica is just a little big for EDC and the Kopa is just a little small. :p I like the hole size of the Delica, but the blade size is a little large for my very-light EDC use. I thought the Kopa would be perfect, but the hole size is too small, though the blade is about right.

So, what would you recommend for a happy medium between the two? I'm thinking about a Persistence. What else should I consider??

Thanks!

You say you have 3 Delicas and seem to like everything about it besides the blade length. Maybe you should pick your least favorite Delica and introduce it to a belt sander until the blade is the length you want. :)

I can't think of anything in Spydercos line-up off the top of my head that's smaller and has the large opening hole.

Yes the dragonfly is one of my edc knives. I think its just about perfect. Only problem is the handle is a little short for me, but i don't mind.

Dragonflies are slightly smaller than the Kopas so that wouldn't work...

The Natives and UKPK is in between the Delica and Kopa: (Closed length)

Dragonfly: 3 7/32
Kopa: 3 7/16
Native: 3 15/16
Native III: 4
Caly 3: 4 1/16
Persistence: 4 1/8
Delica: 4 1/4

Urbans are 3 1/2 but they're slipits.

Spyderco should pay more attention to offering models with blade sizes in between the Dragonfly and the Delica.

How about a Dragonfly with either 2.5 inch or 2.75 inch FFG blade (and a traditional clip, not one that looks like a paperclip or is built into the handle)?

My sense is that such a blade would be highly popular.

How about it, Spyderco?

The caly3 is slightly shorter folded. If you want a shorter blade with a nice handful of grip check out the Meerkat. I love mine, much better grip than the Dragonfly which I also like.

The Rookie will give you about the same blade length as the Delica in a smaller package.

I don't know about exact size, but some of the European models seam in that range. That is if you want a non locking folder.

Check my post. There are plenty of choices based on size. And I know I missed a few.

Edit - Nevermind, you're talking about blade lengths. I posted overall closed lengths.

Try the Urban. It is bigger than the Kopa or Dragonfly but a little smaller than the Delica.
