I picked up a 1980-something Univega Gran Premio for actually a reasonable price. Must've been a project bike since it has a mishmash of good components. Anyway, the hoods for the brake levers are degraded and torn. The levers are Dia-Compe Aero Gran Compes (I believe model # AGC250 based on the drilled levers with "AGC" printed on them). Anyone know a source for these hoods? I've been scouring the internet and can't find anything.

You may just have to buy the whole assembly. Do you want the covers to keep it original? Or do you just not want to spend money on a new pair of levers?

There's an eBay seller in France who has 7 pair of white "VINTAGE DIA COMPE AERO BRAKE LEVER HOODS" for $35 a set.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'm looking to keep the cost and effort level on this bike low, hence the look for hoods vs. complete lever sets. I'll give Harris a shoutout. They don't have anything on their website but it's worth a shot. The seller in France is selling hoods for the AGC251 model. I'm looking for the 250 model. Seems to be the main difference is that the body of the 250 is slab-sided, while the 251 bodies flare outwards around the lever pivot. I'm tempted to try it but I'm not sure how good the fit will be.

I think these are the ones you are looking for hoods for. I may have an extra set kicking around, no guarantees though...

i used to manage a couple of shops, and did find a source for these at one point, but I think they were wholesale only. Have your LBS check J&B supply, or maybe SBS.
