I am looking at getting a knife from Bill Burke in the near future. He sent me some pictures of a style that I really like. The picture below is the only one that I could make fit with the BladeForums software restictions for posting picture.

This is a style that I really like.

That would make a lovely companion to your Fowler.
I'm sure Ed would approve. ;)

Keith,

No wonder you like it--it's got such great lines! That lonnnnnng flowing curve up from the butt to the tip on the spine, and then the subtle taper to a larger end, almost a pistol-grip on the end of the handle. Exactly what pleases me too.

Also the angled bolster joint is VERY appealing. Good area to choke up if needed on the blade, and a great index finger cutout on the handle. The grip needs are well-served.

The horn and damascus are wonderful as well. This knife would look good with ANY combination of materials, though!

There is so much 'flow' going on in this small space. Let him run with it:D Your selection process has been tempered by all the Gallery offerings, and it shows!

Classy little knife. Are you going for damascus as in the photo or plain steel?

I think that I will probably go for 52100 as I find that when it is forged properly it is a great steel and if I make a little mistake when sharpening it will not be such a big deal. I really like damascus, but I find that I baby it too much.

I was looking at this picture again today and realized that one of the reasons that I like the look so much is the balance that I think the finger notch behind the guard and the choil in front of it lend to this knife. The lines of this knife are exceptioally pleasing to me.

I don't think that you could go wrong with one of Bill's knives. Especially one with his forged 52100 and sheephorn. It would last you several lifetimes of use.

Boy that's a beauty Keith.., and of course we'll get to see when you get yours and drool :)...Thanks for the pictures...

Due to a mix-up, I've got two. One's going back.

As an aside, I'm typing this with one hand -- the larger one just bit me good the first time I pulled it from the sheath. I think the last time I cut myself was 25yrs ago. What's up with that?!?!?

To help with the wait on my Fowler, I may have to pick one of those up! They are beauties.

Though those knives have a definite similarity to Ed's knives they also look quite different. The blade geometry is very different from what Ed does. I love my Fowler knife and when I get one from Bill I know that I am going to think very highly of it as well.

I think I'm going to keep the smaller one. It just melts into my hand. Took them both camping. Didn't actually USE either one, but showed them to everyone -- including a surgeon. To a person, we all just LOVE the smaller one.

The surgeon was especially impressed. Kept looking around for something to cut...

The larger one strikes me as an "elk" knife. If I thought I was going to get serious about elk hunting, I'd go that route. It's a "manly" knife.

Michael,

They are both beautiful but that large one is just AWESOME!!!!!!

JUST SEND IT TO ME ----------- There is just something about a knife with a constant curve from tip to tail on it that I just love ..

Great knives - either would be a pleasure to own

KWM!

Now that is what I am talking about....a down to earth beautiful knife, and useful design to boot. Would look good on me whilst flyfishing.

Beautiful!

hey fellas. How about this one? 1095 blade. Nickle silver gaurd. Mystery wood burl scales.

Another beauty Bill! I love the way the etch shows exactly how the blade was heat treated and those mosaic pins look great as well.
