Beautiful knife, Michael. The Fowler influence is unmistakeable. Bill Burke is on the short list of guys I want to buy a knife from.

Have you used it yet? Give us a performance update.

Actually, I was a little disappointed -- this isn't the knife I _meant_ to order.

Someone else posted about the 7" OAL Burke knife they just received, and I liked the pics a lot. I wrote Bill, and discussed something _like_ that, only slightly larger. Maybe 4" blade + 4" handle or about 8" OAL. Actually we discussed several things, but that's what I settled on.

Well, when my name finally came up in the queue, he looked up the old e-mail, and found my original inquiry about the 7" OAL, and that's what he made me!

It is nice. Really fits my (small) hand well, and it's honestly plenty big enough for anything I need it for. I like it, and I'll keep it.

Nice knife!

Michael... it's clear that Bill learned from Ed Fowler.

In your correspondance with Bill, did he mention if he used the same heat treat regimen that Ed Fowler does?

Did Bill mention what his backlog looked like?

Yes, he said he does things pretty much exactly the same as Ed, and yes he told me today his backlog was 8 months...

That's part of why I'm not sending this back for a rework! The 4 months I waited was long enough!

Mike

I had a table right across from Bill at the Salem show. His work is awesome! I even put in an order for 1 myself:)Can't wait till summer!
