Why spend $400 on the real thing when you can have the Frost/Bill Dance endorsed version for only $5?:(

I called SMKW and asked the customer service rep about it.

He said the sell whatever the distributor gives them to sell.

I asked him if it was OK with them that they sell ripoffs of other companies.

He said "Yeah, I guess."

I'm glad I haven't ordered anything from them in a long long long time.

Yeah, I noticed those POS ripoffs at the Bass Pro Shops, last time I was in there. :barf:

I got an email that said they didn't want to offend anybody and wanted to find out which model knife it was like. So I sent him a link and left a phone message. we'll see.

Just to be fair, you have to realize the Customer Service Rep is about one step above the janitor in the hierarchy of the company. I wouldn't expect one of them to be able to represent the company in any meaningful way as far as policy goes.

Well anyway, that still doesn't change the fact that they're selling rip offs though. :thumbdn:

A "canned" Customer Service response. :D

Frost cutlery = Wal-Mart of the knife world. . . . .only worse. :D

Don't hold your breath waiting for them to discontinue the line. You'll have a better chance of having your relationship with them discontinued, which will occur at their choosing.

I would expect this kind of thing from SMKW and Frost Cutlery, but it is sad that Bill Dance has his name on it. He helped promote fishing lures that I'm certain he would have hated to have seen so blatently ripped off.

I like how the name “Bill Dance” is signed on the handle, as if he designed the knife. :grumpy:

I'm guessing that Bill Dance just got an endorsement deal with Frost and had little input on the knives used. Even if he did, if he isn't a knife knut he probably didn't know it was a ripoff. Somebody should really e-mail him.

I tried the email thing, there only email to a marketing and promotion manager who forwarded me to Frost rep. Who never got back to me after I pointed out it was a copy.
