Wow, Dan.
That could be the ultimate grail knife for the ultimate custom forged knife collection.
What a wonderful presentation.
Isn't the contoured guard non-typical of the ST-24 design?
It adds appeal for me.

Thanks for sharing this magnificent piece of forged knife heritage and history.

Wow, what a beautiful piece! Thank you for sharing.

The blade also looks a bit beefier than usual, more like some of the single guard versions Bill did, but longer. It has a shorter ricasso than usual too. That is a rare bird!!!

It is an amazing knife with a beautiful box too.
A true treasure of modern custom knifemaking!

All the best,

I am glad you all appreciate this fine piece guys and you are correct, the guard and blade are a one off for this ST24.
Aside from being in the books Master of the Forge and 50 Year, this piece has never been photographed.... the box is over 20 inches long, so it is a bit challenging.
David, much thanks for your photo enhancement.

Wow -- What a beautiful piece of history!! This is quite a treasure!

Is the handle Maple as well?

Thanks for sharing

Brian

WOW!! Thanks for posting that. That knife is certainly worthy of a professional photo. I would love to see a detail picture of the damascus.

Thank you for your sharing the great knife and the box !
The knife seems very comfortable for grip and use.
(Though nobody will use it...)
And I do like the beautiful box...really wonderful piece itself.

Yes Brian, the handle is also a deep Curly Maple that really sets the Gold off nicely.
Not seen in the picture is the Gold wire detail on the handle which is amazing, its on the back of the handle as well as the butt.
Beautiful and ornate.

Dan, thanks for posting that fantastic knife and box.

I'm a member of the W.F. Moran Foundation and lucky enough to handle and study many of Mr. Moran's knives and sheaths, as well as forge in his shop, so I really appreciate seeing that!

Regards,

Steve

Dan,

What a beauty!

That is my dream knife, of course in my dream I also win Powerball to pay for it.

Congratulations on a super find.
