Hell all - recently I have really fallen in love with Bill Moran style handles. Both styles (I believe one was from late in his life and one earlier) melt in my hand and are The most comfortable knives I've held.

Looking for general suggestions on who makes great knives with Moran style handles.

A few of mine for reference. http://imgur.com/a/P9ZYCiY

Obviously bark River makes some as well as the sub brands that work with bark River. But wondering who else makes this style.

I hadn't realized the style was associated with Bill Moran but some of the knives i make have a similar style to the 2 below, it was just the profile i find most comfortable. I have a few years before i think i will have the skill set and experience needed to make great knives though.

Awesome. It is a great handle shape. From what I understand that was a design/shape from late in his life. Others can correct me if I am wrong.

Bark River (and associated companies / subcontracts), Charlton (Damascus USA) and Spyderco are the only companies making Moran styles right now I know. They are kinda complicated shapes to do well for bigger companies.

The Charltons were older style -

Spyderco made a couple models with a handle like that, their own homage to Bill Moran.

I believe the Spydeco Moran is more than a homage, but the knife was a collaboration designed by Bill and built in Japan for Spydeco, maybe by Moki or G. Sakai. If I recall correctly, it was Bill's only factory built design and Spyderco's first use of VG10.

I love the handle shapes Bill Moran used. They simply fit my hand very well. I try to incorporate some of his later shapes in some of my own designs. He knew a lot about how a handle should work for sure!

It looks like you use it. If so, how does it perform and what do you use it for? Does it carry well, it used to have a leather sheath?

If I recall correctly, "Japan" alone w/o Seki City and that font for the "Y" Spyderco makes it a possible Moki production.
