Back in 2001 I was fortunate enough to attend one of Bill Moran's last damascus classes at Old Washington. During a break Mr. Moran laid out a few of his knives in the classroom. This was the first time I'd seen one that wasn't in a photo. Mr. Moran was a kind, humble person.
In 1989 I took a buddy of mine to Blade Show, at the time, in Knoxville to vie for his MS Stamp and met Bill and Margaret for the first time and was able to handle a ST23 and the then new ST24.
Later in Atlanta I attended an ABS MS breakfast and he let me fool around with a wire-inlaid folder he was carrying....always very friendly.
Thank you. I've been scanning 19 year old 35mm photos taken during that week along with photos of a special knife that Mr. Moran made in one day for a gentleman who stopped by the school.
