In keeping with my fixation with all things sowbelly of late, I was fortunate enough to come across and purchase this beautiful bone handled sow by Bill Ruple which was built earlier this year.

The knife features CPM-154 blades, is 3 13/16" closed and weighs 3 1/4 oz.

Blades walk and talk with the best of 'em and are quite sharp as delivered.

What's a bit unusual about this knife is that it has none of Bill's file work on the liners but very nice bolster detail.

Hope you enjoy the images as much as I have enjoyed putting this baby in my pocket!

Elliott, that is quite interesting, the no filework detail on a Ruple .
That is very nice, congrat's on that one.Your pictures are getting way better, too.

Thanks, Vince. I got a new camera last weekend so now I have 8 megapixels to work with instead of the 1.3 mp that I've been using for years.

Beautiful knife and photos to boot amigo!

As I told Elliott in an earlier email: It should be obvious to us all by now that Blues is responding to the chaos on Wall St by attempting to corner the market on sowbelly futures. He's even converting his dollars to Ruples. :D :p ;)

Woah that's a nice one! I don't have a Ruple but he's on my short list. Congrats Elliott!:thumbup:

Great knife and photos Elliott! Very unique looking sheepsfoot and spey blades. They are ever so slightly different than the norm. I like it!

Blues,
That is one great looking knife! And I agree with Vince, your new camera sure gives nice pictures. I believe that I need to give the sowbelly pattern a try. Maybe find one in the stockman pattern like that. Didn't Schatt & Morgan make a nice one this year?

Is there a particular name for that shield ?
-Vince

I've heard it called a "corset" shield. Usually I just hear folks refer to it as the sowbelly shield.

Thanks Elliott for sharing your beauty with us, I would have to put her in a pouch before putting it in my pocket...
