Here's one you don't see every day and which jumped out and bit the sowbelly aficionado in me.

I don't know that I've ever seen one of these by Bill before but I really like it.

It's got the traditional sowbelly stockman blades but configured into a whittler pattern. (I've seen sowbelly whittlers by Kawamura but with more standard, diminutive secondary blades as you'd find on a normal whittler.)

This one is 3 3/4" closed, CPM-154 and features stag scales.

I hope it's as nice to hold as it is to admire...

Now that's a L@@ker!. And coming from Bill she will undoubtedly be the epitome of, form following function!

Nice snag, Elliot.

Beautiful sowbelly whittler amigo! That stag is fantastic and should keep you warm this winter just gazing at it. ;) :) Just the right size, and cpm154 to boot...yum!

Thanks, fellas. I think sowbellies are an acquired taste...but once acquired...watch out! ;)

That is one awesome looking knife. I like the heavier blades.:thumbup:

Ya, that is really a good snag. I really like the threaded bolsters and the stag. Hmmm, I think Elliott should start a thread just on his '08 knife purchases...

My thoughts exactly but I'm going to have to add an extra "really".
I really, really like the threaded bolsters and the stag.

I really, really think it'll look nice next to that stag/damascus peanut you sent me, Rob. ;)

Thanks for all the comments, folks.

Hard to go wrong on that one.. I really like the bolsters. I don't think I've seen another done the same way. Enjoy.

That peanuts a dandy too..

Really nice looking whittler Elliott.

I also like the bolster treatment.

Congrats

Ken

I bet that tapered liner was a real pain to do... but it sure looks nice with that file effect!

Nice.

Combines the best of several nice patterns! Great piece!!

Very nice, and very nice touch with the detailed springs and bolsters. I'm partial to Stockman patterns, and I like the whittler pattern, too. Nice blend of several styles on this one.

thx - cpr

ps - and thanks for posting the pics of the backsprings, with the main blade open; I like seeing those nice heavy main blades, ready for work...:)
