Does anyone here own the Bill Siegle Hoodlum? I just fininshed watching the Hoods Woods Video #12. The blade looks awesome.

I have two (lg and med) and the knives are fantastic. I just finished ordering a small to complete the set. Bill does excellent work. His blades are solid sharp and well tempered and his sheath work is first rate.

Did I mention he was a very easy knife maker to work with. Whatever date he tells you the knives will be ready will be close enough to set your watch by.

Thanks for the reply. What length blade does the Medium have? How much does it cost?

As a proud owner of a Hoodlum II(modified with slab micarta handles), It is one winner of a knife!!!!!!!!!

You won't regret it!!!!;) :D

satin is better. Blasting creates tiny holes (I don't want to say pores, but it kinda looks like a bunch of pores). These holes can easily form rust. I have read material on the forum sthat describes these holes as acting like tiny bateries!

Details aside, go satin if you want increased rust resistance on any blade. Mirror polish is even better than satin at resisting rust.

I just received my Hoodlum II. I asked Mr. Siegle to make me one with a 9" satin finished blade. Everyhing about this knife is nice. The fit, length, and finish of the handle. The balance of the blade...this knife has a 9" blade but feels good for FMA movements even though it is an outdoors knife.

Thanks Mr. Siegle. :)

If you can, get the neck knife I call"the baby hoodlum", you can attach it to your sheath and use it as a piggyback knife with the Hoodlum II.;)

The Prototype Hoodlum you see in the video is still my main field blade. Bill did a fantastic job with it and although mine has a brass guard, I like the later design more. I also have one of the smaller models and it's quick, handy and tough. In the video you saw the "Frozen Elk Leg bone test". I think that the Siegle blade may have the record for the fastest reduction of frozen bone to shavings of any blade we've tested.

IMHO you can't go wrong with a Bill Siegle blade.

I REALLY wish you hadn't posted that.

I am having a bad case of knife envy at the moment. A couple of those blades twisted my brain... it started with the Kerambit... I have one from long ago and over there that has seen better days... Then I scrolled down and I felt the blood rush to my envy organ...

Thanks.. grrr
