1) Did a certain "prototype" make it through customs OK?

2) Did Kumar have a complete freakout-fit on seeing it? Any other cool reactions?

Matt and others: Jim's project is secret and will remain so, however, just for your edification:

VERY, VERY, VERY!
REAL!

Remember, I just said that it is real, and that *I* think it is on the order of significance of the above, not that it is or is not anything like them. But then that's just my guess, based on knowlege of the deviant parties involved. ( Hi Jim and Unc. Reymus - "No,no,no, please don't throw me into the briar patch!" )

Edit note: The Super Salyan page (000331) keeps coming back as missing when I try to access it. Will try more later this AM/ yourPM.

Until then, here's one more humongous thing from HI, though they don't hardly make anymore, BUT IF THEY GET ENOUGH PEOPLE PLEADING AND BEGGING?????

Hey Rusty by 10/16 do you mean 5/8? One more qustion for Jim. You are doing this just to make us salivate even more than we already are?

Hey Rusty!

My offer still stands to ship you a proto B&T for you to take a pic ala Indiana Jones - heck, we shoulda done that before Bill left, bet the kamis would have gotten a kick out of that

The secret project is in the works and I have fairly high hopes. We have experimented with hardening processes. I tried some transmission oil in a bamboo container but it did not meet the expectations of the kamis. They showed me some different techniques using the slow water quench that worked better so that's what we will be using on the secret project. I don't think we will get it completed before I leave but we should see it in March sometime.

All special orders are in the works.

Yesterday and today there is a kami wedding going on (one of our young men is tying the knot -- I was invited but don't have the time to spend two days partaking) and as a result there were only three men in the shop yesterday and it'll probably be the same today.

Saturday is Bishwakarma puja to give a blessing to all the khukuris, the shop, equipment and everything else just about. A goat will be used for the ritual and then roasted over a forge and eaten. Plent of local beverages, too, compliments of our Scottish Highlander pal.

Don't worry, I'll get plenty of pix to share with you later. By the way, all you forumites and all our friends and customers will be included in the blessing.

More later. Stay tuned.

Blessings from Anamnangar and Suryabenai (that's where the shop is located), Nepal.

Khukuri FAQ

In all seriousness, this thread started because I was honestly concerned there might be trouble bringing in the prototype. Thank the dieties of your choice that worry is over with.

Being annoying was only a distant secondary consideration
