Congratulations to Bill Wiggins who passed his ABS Master Smith performance test yesterday at Burt Foster’s shop in Virginia. They both look pretty happy in this picture. I’m guessing that Bill is pretty relieved at that point…….just guessing you understand.

Excellent guess (LOL)....those last few seconds, as the blade bends/flexes
and you're pulling...listening...and praying NOT to hear a "ping" or a "snap"..
...are gruelling...!

Congrats to Mr. Wiggins.

Bill,

Congratulations on passing your MS Performance test.

Now the fun part is to make 5 knives for the ABS judges.

I'm sure that you will go a great job.

See you at Bowies?????

Stephan

P.S. we need to bug him about actually announcing the darn time already :):)

Thanks everyone for the comments. I have cut with and bent many knives in the past. This one was for sure the most nerve wrecking one I have bent. Bill North was kind enough to ride up to Burt's shop with me. We talked about most everything other than the upcoming test. If not for that, I would have been a nervous wreck. Thanks Bill.

Stephan, I will be at Bowie's. He has set a date, I just can't remember it. September sometime I THINK. I will ask him and let you know. Robert, hope you can make it up as well. Who knows....we might get that famous White guy from Florida up to demo sometime.

I better get to the shop. Never made a dagger before!!:jerkit:

Thanks again, Bill

Congratulations, Bill. You need to post photos of some of your knives. I haven't had the opportunity to see any of your work.

Congratulations Bill!

Congrats Bill,I'd also like to see pics of your work.
If you get time.

Keith,

Here are a few of Bills's knives. I don't know who owns them.

Looking very good, Bill. But I don't know why you couldn't get that nice 90 degree bend to stay in your blade:)

Bill is a great guy and alot of fun to hang with. I met him last December at
the ABS School taking the Intro to Bladesmithing class. He was allready a
Journeyman Smith but took the course again with a couple of knifemaker
friends from Canton, NC, Ron Boydston and Dan Warren. We had a great
time. Ron and Dan both received their JS Stamps at this years Bladeshow.

Bill makes some great competition cutting knives.

Bill was also the organizer of the Grat Smokey Mountain Hammerin at
Haywood College last March. It was a real good time.

Here's a picture of Ron, Bill and Dan picking up a few pointers at the school from Jerry Fisk.
