I had this knife design in the works for a little while and finally got it finished up. It is very light in the hand, and pointy!

that's some kind of badass!
personally, I'd like to see a little more drama and angularity toward the end of the handle, but it's a killer design reguardless :)

I like handle with both woods. I like that blade, design and hamon. I like the sheat. Certainly, I like it all!!!! congratulations

Thanks for all the input and comments everyone. David I agree, I went from the thought of not putting a Lanyard tube to only using tubes!

I like it :D

I think the blade shape is very cool - like the hamon as well :thumbup:

Really shows the evolution of Ryan's style.........and that sheath is very nicely done

Good lines Ryan and I really like the wood choices. I would agree with the tubes, seems like with wood handles they generally don't add like they can with composite materials.

Be in touch!

Eric

Bill, I am really glad you like it!

Thanks MIKE AND ERIC...

Eric I read a very nice write up on you and your work! Congrats

I really like it a lot Ryan but... I think the tubing detracts from the knife.

I really like the blade. It has a definite "badass" look. I think the lanyard tube would look better if it was a different color than the pins. Copper may look good with that choice of wood?

Ryan, I'm loving the design, but the tubes are just killing it for me. Fantastic work as always.

Sorry it took me awhile to get something posted.....since I got the knife this past Tuesday from Ryan :D

Firstly, I'd like to say that Ryan is very good at communication, which is something that I think ALL collectors find valuable!

I first contacted Ryan awhile ago, when he was posting some of his earlier stuff and taking (a little) heat. We talked about a fighter, and I pretty much left it up to him what he wanted to do - we tossed it back a forth a little, but I wanted to let him run with it without too much interference:p

He and I have already chatted, so here are my impressions of the knife:

Very nice design, great flow. It feels very light in the hand and balances well. The blending of the handle materials is technically perfect, and I like the choices...except for the tubes ( as a few others have gently pointed out :p). Not a big deal to me, though.

Fit and finish is very good - hamon and the polishing are Excellent. If I had to be very picky, there are a few stray scratches, but since I plan on using this one that really doesn't bother me a whole lot. Sheath is actually quite professionally finished and holds the knife securely.

Overall, I'd say that, compared to the knives he was showing when I first contacted him, he has REALLY stepped it up. He has his own evolving style, and he is only going to get better :thumbup:

Count me extremely satisfied! Super bang for the buck factor

Great job Ryan
