Does anyone use billhook?I have some old ones, and want to know how do they perform compare to kukri-that I don't have one but planing to order.Billhook was very common tool in past, even in some armies during II Word War,where they have gone?In 70`s when I was kid I never heard about machetes and kukris. Now good hand forged billhook is almost impossible to find.

I've got one, it was my granda's and it cuts pretty damn well, I was using it only recently for chopping up an ash tree could get thorught an 1.5 inch branch in one swoop, but then i'd sharpened it :D. it's a hand forged one cos my great uncle was a blacksmith and he made it :D.

Yes thats my point,if it is such a good tool for outdoors ,should I retire those of mine(older one is about 50,one is 30 and one 10-but that is Italy factory made, don't like it really),and go for kukri? What do I get?How much in cutting capabilities or is it just not to look as like as medieval peasant, that don't bother me much.

Hmmm
I personally prefer a Khukuri because it has more heft behind it, and it does the job quite a bit better. I like the billhook and all and it does chop right and well but I think the Khukuri out performs it to be honest.

Thanks for info,Woodman`s pal sure looks nice, just have to find a way to buy it here in Croatia.
