Quick Question,
I want to make a cook can out of a V-8 can. How does one burn out the linner? Start a fire in the can? Boil it for a while?

Good question. I'd imagine tossing the can in a campfire or bbq for a while would do the trick, but I'm not really sure.

That is all there is...

Just burn the can till its black (we learned this in boy scouts a long time ago...

If you don't cut the whole top and leave a good proportion attached, you can bend it over and create a handle that makes it easier to deal with when getting on and off the fire....

We did this in Scouts when aluminum cans hadn't been invented yet...

The best thing I have found if you want to stay very basic is to purchase one of those stainless steel cups at Walmart, or any good sporting goods store...

Just don't get the ones with beveled sides, I found the tip over to easy and with all the popping from fires put to much junk in your cup...

After you burn out the plastic, make sure you season it (keeps it from rusting). Coat it inside and out with vegetable oil and let it bake in the oven for about 20 minutes. It will smell good and oyur wife will think you are cooking dinner too
