When I picked this up recently, I was not very familiar with Billy Mace Imel. I was quickly corrected that he is one of the old masters, making knives since 1973. Anyone else come across his knives??? This is a VERY simple, yet virtually flawless, slip joint that looks and feels like a fixed blade when open. Let me know what you think

Congrats.
I spent a lot of time looking at Billy's knives last summer at AG Russell's Show and was VERY impressed.

I think its a lovely slipjoint. Sleek and quick.
Hey thanks for joining the Forum. More More

I've known Billy for years. He truly is one of the masters. Makes simple and elegant folders like yours and on the other end very complex fixed blade daggers. You should see one of his left hand ring daggers sometime.

You got yourself a classy knife. Even with its simplicity it is easily distinguished as an Imel knife.

I have two of his integral fixed blades; a fighter and a drop point hunter. You can tell he's a great believer in the KISS principal, as most old tool and die men are. Very clean designs, perfectly executed.

Thank you... could you explain the KISS principal???

John, KISS, along with being a weird rock band whose music was never very good, also means Keep It Simple, Stupid. Occasionally in more recent times it's spelled out Keep It Super Simple. In other words, don't over complicate things. David
