Picked up 2 of these babies off ebay from a fella that has Watson make them for him so he can sell them for a slight profit on ebay. These are dropped point forged 1095 Rc58/59, osage handle and spalted maple handle. Nice leather pouch style sheaths one fancy and one plain. Makers mark on left side of blade and nice an crisp.

These 2 particular knives have a distal taper to the blade and full flat grinds with a forged integral guard for the fore finger to rest in. The handles taper from the front at the ricasso to the back where it is bigger. For smaller hunters they are extremely comfortable to hold. I say small only in the fact that they are 4" blades which is about .5" shorter than the CS Master Hunter I have used forever. I can't post pics here but trust me on this I have not seen better hunters forged from to many bladesmiths. Oh yea sharp too. Anyways I love'em and can't wait to use one and the other I'll save. keepem sharp

I picked up a 4-inch Billy Watson hunter for a reasonable price a few years ago. I liked it a lot, but it was a little small for me, so I contacted Billy, sent him some cherry and sassafras wood, and he made these larger hunters for me. Similar design to longbow's, I am sure.
I haven't been on it for some time, but he has a pretty good website with lots of his work pictured.

I like that finger guard. Great idea.

I've had one of Billy's EDC hunters.Very light & comfortable, the fingerguard is awesome. He delivers them sharp! Had a period Barlow once, too.Real nice guy,who makes nice knives at very fair prices.I visit his website occasionally,to admire his knives that are a bit different than what I am currently into.
Nice score,
