I've been on Bing's list to get one of these superb Icarus folders.....this one sporting W2/Hamon.

I've had the other for going on two years and wanted to show the two different models together. :)

Nice pair of folders. Do you carry and use them?

In a word.........no. :o

I'm a Collector first and foremost and I carry a very mundane lock-back I've used for about 10 years now. It's a David Boye, cast-colbalt, Zytel-handled job, with a full-height flat-grind by Tom Krein to .008" on the edge before sharpening....no need to 'violate' one of my Customs. ;)

I did cut my thumb with the Acarus after I had used a polished steel on the edge and was putting a coat of Renaissance Wax on the W2 blade.....does that count? ;)

I'd say no, that doesn't count as "use" but I've done that too. No judgement from me. I both collect some and use some. I have two Bing folders that have never seen use and one that is my EDC. Had another non-user that I sold to another collector. To each his own I say. That said, I recommend buying another to use just because they work great. I fell in love with flippers because of the ease of opening one handed when working on stuff that needs cuttin.

Dudley, thanks for posting up. I forgot about those first ones. Damn I'm getting old

Well need to get you a user piece next time out my friend.

Thanks Again
Bing

I have three of Bing's prototypes and use them extensively. Rest assured, they can handle it!

As for 'using'- flipping these things should count as use! And, dude, with Bing's SMOOOOOTH work, flipping them is FUN!
