Biometric gun vaults

In my profession, I use a state of the art biometric fingerprint sensor to access controlled substances many times a day. It is NOT reliable enough for me to risk my life on. In other words, if the lock is for a gun safe that you do not ever need immediate access to, then it's fine if it takes a few attempts to open it. If it's your bedside intruder-in-the-house gunbox, absolutely NOT reliable enough. My immediate access needed guns are in Simplex locked boxes. Thousands of uses, never failed.

I have to log into a computer with a similar system sometimes and it often takes several tries. This is very slightly annoying when it's logging into a computer. But, if it was an emergency, the delay could be ultimately costly... if you know what I mean.
