Hi guys . I went out today to a state park with family and friends . There is a lake there so I went fishing by my self while fishing this bird came out of nowhere and almost took my hat and landed about three feet away from me . My wife says it's a pigeon and a believe it's a pidgeon but what kind . It was a beautiful bird and it had some tags on its leg .

Looks to be a rock pidgeon the tags are register for pigeon racing little google help thank.
