Bird & Trout / Boning knife w/ custom sheath

Very happy with this one. AEBL @62, hand finished to 1200 and buffed. 4 inch blade. Rayed Oak handle.
Sharp as all heck. This I think is my 4th leather sheath. I am learning leather so would love any advice.

Thanks. It's actually the old Herters style from their Canadian Skinner. I have always liked it. Carried that knife most of my youth.

Here's a little more detail. It's maybe not quite as simple as it looks. I loosened it up a bit so you can see how it passes through.
Reminds me a little bit of an oroboros.
