Stabilized birds eye maple scales with a black fiber liner. Buffed, and I even put on 4 coats of hard shellac to make them look like glass. I figured some nice brass tubing would class them up some.

Rods are 3/8" thick and 3 1/2" long. Large and in charge;)

NOT FOR SALE

I've never seen a firesteel with a liner before, nor with such a lustrous finish.

To see three is a triple whammy!

I was thinking of doing something similar (yeah right!!! :D) to my steel...

I'll post pics when I get it... but no laughing :D :D :D

SkogKniv, those are gorgeous! Nice flints too!

http://www.greenmanbushcraft.co.uk/...ndeer-antler-firesteel-with-reindeer-logo.htm I want this one sooooo bad... I can't find it anywhere in the US though

If you really want one that badly, I could order one on your behalf and send it on to you. Might get a bit costly for a firesteel though...

£12.99 + £3.95 (UK postage) + £3.00 (guessed intl postage) + £1.60 (guessed paypal fees) = about $36  . Notice that they charge more to post in the UK than the intl/US postage? That's rip-off Britain for you!

Have you contacted Greenman and asked if they'll ship it to you? They don't usually ship overseas, but they do say that they sometimes make exceptions. It's worth a try.

Personally though I think there are people around the forum that could make you a nicer one for that price. The reindeer logo only looks stamped/inked, not carved.

I'm off on holiday from tonight for a week... got a trip to the Scottish Highlands. Going fatwood hunting, Scotch sampling and mountain climbing :D

If you might want to do this, send me an email and we can sort things out when I get back.

Thanks so much for the offer, I'll contact Greenland himself and see what my best options are, if that doesn't work out I'll contract someone experienced in it and have them make me one of similar style. Mountain climbing in northern Scotland sounds amazing, it seems like an ideal and untapped area as far as adventure travel goes. I see some great mountain biking videos from that region. I'm sure the brew is good too!
