This is a bowie I just finished up. Its 5160 steel with 655 Silicon Bronze guard, pin and lanyard tube. The handle is WSSI stabilized Birdseye Maple. OAL is 13-1/2" with an 8-1/4" blade length. As usual my pics just don't do the beautiful maple handle justice, its really quite spectacular. Compared to most knives you'll find here its rather "Plain Jane", nonetheless its the first knife of mine that I've felt was worthy of posting in the "Customs" folder. I sure hope you guys like this one. Thanks for looking :)

If you're interested you can find this in the for sale gallery. Thanks again for looking.

That's a nice looking bowie and from the pics, your work looks very clean. I like it - gorgeous piece of maple for the handle. Nothing at all wrong with "plain" - particularly when it comes to bowies. Good job.

David,

My knives are "Plain", but this Bowie is far from being "Plain".

Where did you happen to get the Silicon Bronze?

Great job on the knife and sheath. Thanks for letting us have a look.

Thanks AfterTFD, much appreciated

Thank you Robert :) You're very welcome .
I picked up a 1" x 1" x 36" Bar and a bundle of 1/8" x 36" pin stock to match from Atlas Metals. For my lanyard tube I saw cut a small rectangular block from the 1 x 1 bar then drilled and turned it. Silicon Bronze is quite pricey as I'm sure you know, but IMHO is worth the extra money. It looks so darn nice, especially with the maple. FWIW the Birdseye is homegrown too, and was cut just down the road from my house. I cut my own blocks and send them to Mike at WSSI for stabilizing.

Thanks again Guys.
