My birthday is April 17th. Because of my current job/school status I am basically forced to take minimum wage which puts me at about 150$ a week. I am 21 and a full time student in my home city so I live with my parents and am not forced into pulling a full time job and school. What this means is that my knife buying time periods are student loan disbursement, christmas, and my birthday. This year I am trying to decide between two knives: Paramilitary 2 (standard version) or the Gayle Bradley.

Any advice in regards to my potential purchase would be helpful, thanks.

Both are good knives. Do you live in a salt humid climate? If you do I would go with the paramilitary. The gale bradely I think is made with m4 steel and can (not saying will) rust more quickly than the stainless para mil.

I actually live in Reno, Nevada so moisture is not an issue, it's dry as a bone here.

In that case I actually think the m4 steel out preforms the cpm-s30v. If you will be using the blade for food prep don't get the bradley with the m4, but if not, the choice is really yours. I am a spyderco military guy (i like big folders). I like the design of both of the knives you listed though. I almost bought a gayle bradley the other day

I was actually going between those two myself, then I decided to grab a Manix 2 and a UKPK lightweight:D What's your sharpening equipment like? I think you'd need diamonds for the GB. Also, what role will this knife play? If its edc, I'd steer toward the para for the lighter weight, if that bothers you at all. Then again, the GB's carbon fiber handles make it nice and dressy, not as "tactical" as the PM for edc and sheeple (I would think). I don't really think you can go wrong with either. I've heard that the compression lock ergo's are not for everyone, but I have no direct experience with it. I don't think you can lose with either knife, it just depends on your preferences.
