ok guys help me out here please ! heres the issue..it gonna be my 40th birthday in 3 weeks (dammit) anyway...anyway my wife wants to get me a knife for that..something i can keep forever, shes set me on a budget of $150 to $175 and i get to pick out the style that id like..problem is it HAS to be there on the day of my bday or i cant get it, id narrowed it all down to a buck 110 custom (S30v steel ram horn handle ) but the waiting time is 4-6 weeks so thats out, now what else should i/could i get ? any suggestions and or input would be greatly appreciated, it has to be above the norm and no carbon steel blades, i also aim to carry this in some kind of belt sheath or pouch and id prefer a lockback but that isnt a deal breaking if its something else cool :) i do have slipjoints but not a nice lockback
thanks guy in advance !

If you plan to carry in a belt sheath, have you considered a small fixed-blade? There are many makers on this forum who make great knives within your budget. Good luck and Happy Birthday.

sorry..forgot to mention that i also have a bunch of great small fixed blades so those are out too, thanks for the input tho :)

Look at the Boker 2000 and Optima series. A friend I hunted with in OH used to carry a 2000 all the time. Nice large lockback if that is what you are looking for available in Stag and Horn with 440c

Buck makes ltd edition 110's that come out of the custom shop. You can find these already made. I bought this one a few years ago. They usually run between $150 - $200.

What about a Buck 532 lockback in Giraffe Bone $125, see the web specials on the Buck website.

Check the Japanese company MOKI, they make lockbacks that are superb in finish. They come with a belt pouch. Not run of the mill, good and unusual.

Happy b-day. How about a yellowhorse customized 110? A web search should yeild a good variety ready to ship

they all look good...checking out each one, thanks for the options guys :)
im gonna take a few days to mull it over (and sleepless nights)

an update for anyone who may or may not be interested :) she went ahead and ordered me a buck from the custom shop ! and i have a sheath being made by rudderjt..cant wait, i'll post pics of em when they get here

Great looking trio ya got there! Really like the sheath, very classy. Happy Birthday (late i'm guessin?) Remember to sheath that baby when the whiskey level starts gettin lower!

Very, very good lookin' knife.

What are the details on the materials (for those of us who don't know)? Blade Steel? Did you end up going with the S30V or the standard?

How about that sheath? I'd for sure be interested in a sheath like that for my normal 110.
