Help me pick a new knife for my B-day guys. I am stuck in a good way. I have narrowed my choices down to four knives(priced at $150 or below, as much as the wife will let me spend). Bear in mind I have a plethora of folders and a couple of solid fixed blades so this is purely for the hell of it, not based on needs of any kind. They are as follows:

1. Camillus CUDA CQB1
2. Buck Strider Solution (BU-888)
3. Bob Lum FB-03 fixed blade
4. Spyderco Gunting

Help me!

All good choices. I just got a Gunting and like it a lot. But with the gunting you are going to need to pay more overall to get any added benefit over any other knife. You will need to spring for a trainer or drone and some tapes. That would put you well over your $150.

The cuda has a high gadget factor and is a cool knife.

Buck strider is built like a brick. It will make you feel manly. it is pretty big though, so not as many times to carry it practically. And, most jobs do not require such a knife when a smaller one will be just as good or better.

Personally, I do not like the looks of the fixed Lum Tanto. People have said good things about it though. Me, I cannot legally carry a fixed blade ever so I do not buy them.

If it was me in your situation I would go with the cuda. Cool knife with a lot of uses. Can be used properly without additional outlay of funds. That would be my choice.
