My wife drove around town the day before my birthday and she scored this one for me. A Case Barlow pattern, it has three small dots stamped on the main blade. I assume that means something, I am not too educated on pocket knives:o.
I think she did pretty good for not being a knife person!

Very nice. You married a thoughtful woman with wonderful tastes, it looks like you hit the jackpot.

Is it just me or is those pictures not working? Anyway you must have a good woman if she buys you toys like that. :D

Very nice looking jack.

Here is a good link online for dating Case knives.

Anyway those dots work like this:

10 dots - 1970 (or 1980 depending on location and rest of stamp).

9 dots would be 71 or 81 and so forth. One dot is removed each year. So three dots in this case would be 1977 from what I can see thinking the dots are below the U.S.A. If the dots are above the USA 1987.

Happy Birthday Mark, and bless yer heart, you have some learnin to do about Barlows. Start here. :D http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=475810

A Barlow is a regular jack but regular jacks aren't necessarily a Barlow. True Barlow's have a bolster that is approx. 1/3 the length of the knife. What you have could be called a regular jack/slim jack/English jack.

Is there a pattern number on the pile side of the master blade? 3124 1/2 maybe?

Knifehead, thanks for the education! lol I learn a little more about knives everyday. The pattern number is 6202 1/2 on the reverse of the master blade....

Thanks to everyone that replied and not only was I happy with the knife but hapy that my wife made an effort to find something I would like!

Case called that xx02 pattern a Barehead Jack. I believe the "1/2" indicates a pen secondary blade. "62" indicates Bone(6) and two blades(2)
